Re: Sound and LOAD issues

Absolutely! I have to admit I was a bit hesitant to turn it on when I was done, as I had accidentally scratched a connection I couldn't see below the flip-flop IC when gently prying it off the board after desoldering. Fortunately it was only a surface scratch, phew... :)

Re: Sound and LOAD issues

It's alive!!!! Great news guys, everything works! I got the mono minijack cable today and I managed to load a game without issue. Still had the sound problem, so I switched out the octal flip-flop and the sound works now! With fart sound in Blobbo and Knuckles aswell, which was pretty much my criter...

Re: Sound and LOAD issues

On that note, I hope to get the mono jack cable one of the coming days (I ordered one yesterday). With the information you just provided Martin, it seems it should then be able to load games even with the sound being faulty. And that does worry me a bit, because earlier today I actually managed to f...

Re: Sound and LOAD issues

So I got a chance to do a bit more testing today. I hooked up my MTX512 to the monitor and hi-fi connections and got a great picture on my TV. The constant tone and a very high pitched tone is still there. I tried the <CTRL><G> combination but I didn't get a bell sound. If you guys have any input in...

Re: Muldjord aka "El Senator"

Thanks! Interesting, so it looks like it already compiles and runs on Arm. In that case, maybe I could add it as an experimental emulator to RetroPie. Most of the RetroPie emulators are RetroArch cores that makes it easy to map RetroArch controllers to any of the emulator cores. But that would need ...

Re: Sound and LOAD issues

That is some very interesting insight. Thanks! I seem to recall this tone being there and I could still load games (It's been years since it started appearing I just haven't looked into it until now). So with that in mind, it does seem that it is either the sound chip or the support chips. I should ...

Re: Muldjord aka "El Senator"

No, no RS232 in my MTX512. I looked into Memu yesterday but haven't tried it yet. I'm a big RetroPie fan so I was thinking that maybe Memu could work on Arm on a RPi3, but I don't really have time to look into that. Would be neat though, to have it on there. And thank you! If I am in need of spare p...

Re: Sound and LOAD issues

I would assume that the sound output coming from the speakers when loading a game is coming from the sound chip. But I haven't much knowledge about it, so it's just an assumption. What is the CTC? I'm gonna do some more troubleshooting when I get the IC's I ordered. I actually have no reason to beli...

Re: Muldjord aka "El Senator"

Good to hear from you Claus! Yes, it's been a while. :) I had some off years where I pretty much lost my interest in the retro space. But about 2 years ago I was given an old A500 for free that needed to be shined up a bit. So one weekend I took it apart and cleaned everything up and got it back in ...
