Re: Bootstrap and boot blocks

Alan,

on stty, based on the stty -a output, I'm guessing that <ctrl><q> and <ctrl><s> are meant to start/stop screen scrolling?

On the MTX implementation, they change the foreground colour attribute

Re: Bootstrap and boot blocks

stty cols x works and the games are formatted correctly

the stty settings are transient though, I guess they need to be saved in some way

Re: Bootstrap and boot blocks

That doesn't work, "columns" is an illegal argument and setting the rows makes no difference to the output

I am running Bill's CFX-II emulation in his windows version of MEMU, so that might be the issue. I did try to download the vanilla MTX MEMU version from ...

Re: Bootstrap and boot blocks

Alan, the games files include some adventure (Advx) and Mystery (Mystxx) files, when I try them, there is a carriage return after every word printed to the screen. Is there something that I need to do to tell the programs about the (emulated) MTX screen? Also, Invaders reports that the TERM variable...

Re: Bootstrap and boot blocks

Ahh, thanks a lot Bill!

Now that you mention it, I came across that ages ago, then promptly forgot all about it.

(I was trying to run something on RPi and spent ages searching for that info - memory like a sieve !!!!)

Re: Bootstrap and boot blocks

Ah, thanks a lot.

I need to do some more reading, I thought that I would be able to run the programs when logged into the /usr/games directory, but it seems that I ned to run them from my home directory with the path specified
