I've not seen any other serious offers, so:
Would you guys want to meet up here again some time in October ???
The town's Bonfire Night is on the 13th, which might affect accommodation. But it's also something else to see other than MTXs.

"Disc" storage on a budget - part 2
Booting from the SDX rom produces a familiar looking screen. Boot Screen.jpg Here's the component layout of the test board. For a single 8k image leave off the 3 pin jumper on A13 and wire to 0v. 100nf capacitors can be added between 5v and 0v on the 2 chips and the IDE header Layout.pdf The forum w...

"Disc" storage on a budget
Here it is - just about the smallest, simplest IDE/Compact flash interface possible. It consists of just 2 chips, an edge connector and the 20 way header for a CF to IDE adaptor. I used a 70ns 128k flash chip as that's actually cheaper than a 150ns 8k eeprom, however any reasonably modern flash/eepr...

Re: MTX new Replacement mainboard ??
This thread reminded me of something I tried a couple of years ago: the MTX538. The distance between the rails on the MTX case is exactly Euro Card PCB size, So I tried squeezing a much of an MTX a possible onto a single Eurocard and came up with this: abandoned.jpg Power would have been a 7.5v 1A s...

Re: CFX-3, a work in progress . . . .
And some more pictures: boot40.jpg The VDP display on boot. It will be pretty familiar to anyone that's played with a CFX or CFX-II. On a colour screen it's the familar blue and white. The CX boot option is intended to help recover if the SiDisc gets corrupted and prevents the system booting. CPM wi...

Re: CFX-3, a work in progress . . . .
busy board.jpg It's quite a busy board, on left is the VGA connector and the 3 drive resistors. Above than is a 512k nvram chip holding the silicon disc, with SiDisc counter and latches surrounding it. Next on the left is the shift register and output multiplexer. Centre top is the CPLD and Compact...

Re: CFX-3, a work in progress . . . .
The basic idea that started CFX-3 was to create a video signal using a high speed oscillator do drive the pixel clock, instead of a PLL. That would hopefully eliminate the jitter on the display that we were seeing from the propeller in the CFX-II once the board had warmed up. I initially thought we ...
