Re: MTX & Tatung Einstein Speculator source code release
Hi Tony, It's still generous of you to share it. Whether or not anyone choses to do anything to with it (and I hope that they do), it's great that this is being preserved, it was groundbreaking in its time. Just a shame that there were not that many Memotech users to take advantage of it at the time...

Re: Football Manager
For anyone else interested, Nassim has kindly uploaded a number of .wav files to my Dropbox, including Football Manager. For simplicity, I have made these files available for download from my existing Downloads page http://primrosebank.net/computers/mtx/mtxsoftware_dl.htm (If you download any of the...

Re: MFX - Installation, Usage, Issues, Questions, Problems
That sounds like progress. Going back to the original problems . . . . . As I mentioned earlier, a GAL fault is unlikely to have been the root cause of your problems. The GAL is only doing the memory decoding, it has no impact on the serial number displayed, that is done in the FPGA. The most likely...

More than in a few other videos though. The one done by the person who had the table next to mine with Acorn stuff on managed to show practically every table but mine.

Re: MFX - Installation, Usage, Issues, Questions, Problems
Doing a quick search on the web about the G540 and GAL22V10 throws up a couple of posts about some users not being able to program the GAL, possibly down to the USB programmer not being able to generate enough voltage to reprogram the GAL properly. That may or may not be the issue here, but as you s...

Re: MFX - Installation, Usage, Issues, Questions, Problems
I don’t know anything about the G540 programmer, but I do know that my TL866a, although when I bought it, listed the GAL22V10 as a supported device, would not correctly program the GAL. The symptoms were similar to those you describe, it would appear to program the device, then fail the verify. Alth...

Re: Strange behaviour
First thing that springs to mind is a possible bad connection between the MTX and CFX-II boards due to the edge connector, but it would be good to try and confirm whether the problems are with the base machine first. The loading problem could be a bad tape, do you have other tapes that you can try w...
