Re: Memofest 2023, Where and When?

I guess that I’ll be joining remotely, so, food preference is for delivery 😎 If I look hard enough, I’m sure I can send you some tasty chips. Silicon flavour of course, do you have a preference for a particular date code  Mark Thanks for the offer, are those date codes “best before” or “use by...

put 64122 in brackets, i.e., PRINT PEEK (64122)
Sorry, us old folk forget things when we start messaging late at night (ie after 6pm)

Re: Stéphane from France (MTX500)

Welcome. I won't say anything about games or storage systems, since I had a hand in designing a lot of them, my opinion might not be too impartial :) It's probably worth doing a "PRINT PEEK 64122" to confirm the amount of memory fitted. The MTX500 motherboard should print a zero and the MT...

Welcome, It's nice to see there's another MTX out in the wild.

It needs to be out and tested ahead of the Enterprise!

Re: MTX512 - Screen Trouble

As far as I've been able to work out, yes, the OS does use the input line on the screen during some part of the command processing. The manual says there is a keyboard buffer at #FB4B i'm not sure though at what stage that gets filled. If the CPU ram misbehaves, then you'll likely just have a non st...

Re: MTX512 - Screen Trouble

There's a write up of VRAM test and repair here http://primrosebank.net/computers/mtx/repairs/vram/mtx_vram_repair.htm The reverse quote has an ASCII code in hex of #60. a space has a code of #20. That #40 difference suggests that there is a rogue bit appearing on D6. At the time TI designed the VDP...

Re: I don't s'pose someone would like to lend an FDX to me?...

It would certainly be a good comparison FDX vs MFX. 1980s vs 2010s.

OK the Cyclone FPGA we used is a bit earlier than 2010, but the net chip is a closer to 2020.

Re: MFX mass-storage add-on - Original Thread

Mmm, another observation on my packing technique - I may need to revisit it :o Well, the good point is that apart from my knife blade, nothing was damaged :D And to be fair, the blade was already well worn… Although putting the label on the bottom of the box, which I did not realise until after I c...

You might not need to poke him now, a little bird tells me the MFX has been finished and shipped. :D
