Re: Who wants a MAGROM board?
V5 is built and lightly tested, it seems to be working fine. It's now down to 6 chips. It has all of Mark's suggestions implemented, plus *grom instead of the 74xx138 doing rom 7 detection. The MTX500 I tested it on has one of Andy's Rememorizor PAL's fitted, but that shouldn't make any difference. ...

Aye, well Dave has me slaving away over the MAGROM software.
Maybe he'll allow me a few days rest before making me start on the V5 prototype

Re: Who wants a MAGROM board?
Shhhhh Don't tell Dave, who I've just sent the V4 schematic to, that I I'm looking at doing a V5 board with all these suggestions included. Though for ROM protection would ORing the ROM chip-select with *RE/CPM not be more logical ? that way if the ram only mode is set, them the ROM can never be sel...

Re: Who wants a MAGROM board?
@ Mark, Replacing the 74xx20 and 74xx138 with a 74xx30 and one of the unused gated on 74xx32 seems so obvious now you've mentioned it. The trick with the 74HCT374 and the resistor pack, just shows the huge gaps in my knowledge, I just mirrored the paging system Memotech used. One thing I was curious...

Maybe he's just shy!Dave wrote:Martin has designed a great new add-on for the MTX, as he appears to be "hiding his light under a bushel" at the moment,
BTW Either the copy of Tachyon fighter is corrupt, or it needs to come off that list, I have a proper look at it at the weekend.

Re: Another MTX oldie
the Acorn Emulator must be this: http://www.mtxworld.dk/mtxfiles/mtx.arc :) Yup that's it, pretty much the "latest" version too. I only ever had one bug report when I had it online, and that was the update with the fix. Scary really, the date stamp on the source code is over 14 years old!

Another MTX oldie
Hello! I brought my first Memotech at the end of 1983. Which ended up as a full twin disc FDX. I wrote the "Bomber" game that appears on Dave and Andy's sites (and maybe others) At one time there were 4 of us in the family with MTX's so between us we had a fairly comprehensive collection o...

Re: Building a replacement MTX PSU - Sneak Preview
I have display issues with both of mine, if the RS232 is fitted, but without it they're both fine.
I suspect it's lack of juice on the 12v line.
However, I've only got the one PSU to share between the 2 systems, so I'm another user watching this with interest.
