Re: Resurrecting an MTX500.

Address lines A0-A6 show activity, A7-15 do not. Could this be just the ROM start-up code getting so far within the first 256 bytes before crashing and restarting? But then I should see data on the data bus and I don't. (Well, I often see one edge and sometimes see multiple data on some data lines ...

Re: Resurrecting an MTX500.

Here's a display of the same chip/pin on a working MTX. It does look like you're not getting a true low. Ads00031.jpg The chips don't have to be OKI, I've upgraded both of my MTX500s to MTX512 spec by replacing the OKI 32k parts with 64k, 150ns Samsung KM4164B parts. To make the upgrade work I also ...

Re: Relocating MTX Machine Code

I guess that BBC Basic does something similar automatically when you type RUN. BBC Basic has all sorts of nice things built into the assembler that's missing from the MTX Basic. You can: set it up to assemble dynamically and hide the output. Set it to assemble at one address with a totally differen...

Re: Please Introduce yourself...

Welcome.

If you've got a CFX already, then Andy Key has a memory card for the MTX, it won't increase the memory in basic past 64k though. (Not that there's any software out there that needs more than 64k visible to basic.)

Re: [MAME] Emulating the MTX

Silicon discs have a driver - SIDISC.COM that needs to be loaded first. It's not compatible with Andy's RAM disc code though, they both use the same drive letters and high memory. There's 2 copies in the ZIP along with a re-built source that formed the basis of the SiDisc drive built into the CFX 2 ...

Re: [MAME] Emulating the MTX

You'll probably want Andy's REFORMAT.COM. It works with pretty much all the drive types.

Re: New tape cleaner tool

That is clever, so much more readable output than my program's stream of 0s and 1s.

Upgraded 65C02 Co-Processor - work in progress

Elsewhere on the forum, Bill asked for details of my latest project. It's still very much work in progress, but it's a upgraded 65C02 co-processor board for the MTX plus. The original 6502 board that we demonstrated at Memofest in Aberdeen runs HiBasic 3 from the BBC 2nd processor and passes all the...

Re: New tape cleaner tool

I've been sidetracked by another hardware project. So "spill the beans", your projects are always interesting. I'll see what I can do photo wise (edit: see http://www.mtxworld.dk/memorum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=416 ). In the mean time these are the quick and dirty clean up tools in BBC B...
