Re: New tape cleaner tool
What would be read? In normal operation an interrupt is triggered on an edge (can't remember which on). Would not the bit read just reflect if an edge has been detected or not? As an aside, one of these days, when the emulators are up to it, I would love to write a tape loader with music and loading...

Unconverted mp3s
Hi all, I have a number of mp3s that I have discovered over the years that I haven't been able to convert. Now might be a good time to see if, as a group, we can do it now. This first list are working mp3s, i.e. that load correctly into a Memotech however I've not been able do that with my setup. Ji...

Re: New tape cleaner tool
Here are some calcualtions that might help: The MTX tape routine works by configuring the CTC to interrupt on edge detection. While waiting for the edge, register A is decremented. No of cycles to execute "DEC A ; JP C, -3" - 14. It takes 14 cycles to decrement reg A. 22050 sample rate is ...

Re: New tape cleaner tool
Hi Lars,
Great that you have a new tool for converting wavs as I still have a number of wavs that I've not been able to convert. I've got some mp3s too which are known to work.
I will dig out the tape format and post it later today. Off for a flu jab now.

Re: NTSC/PAL VDP setup?
Could the patch be more to do with interrupt driven sound/music? As the VDP interrupt will be different, i.e. 50Hz or 60Hz, the interrupt routine will need changing. I think it's, skip every 6th interrupt. It does mean sound from every 5th interrupt is twice as long. That makes 5 * 20ms = 100ms = 6 ...

Re: NTSC/PAL VDP setup?
There are number of 9918 chips, e.g. 9928 and 9918A, specifically for NTSC or PAL. However the border should take up the difference as the resolutions are the same, 256 x 192 However depending on the clock speed supplied to the 9918 compared with the clock speed of the CPU would mean extra/fewer cyc...
