Re: MFX SD card image: Is Hextrain hiding on it somewhere?

I tried it this morning and it works.

I think I may rename ht.com to hextrain.com to make it clear what it is. :-)

Re: MFX SD card image: Is Hextrain hiding on it somewhere?

Thanks. I'll take a look.

P.S. Yes it's there as "ht.com" but you have to switch the VDP first using "vdp.com" before blindly starting it.

MFX SD card image: Is Hextrain hiding on it somewhere?

I've read that the SD card image which comes with the MFX has a hidden partition ready for Hextrain. Does the image have the actual demo hiding somewhere? I'd like to show off the demo at the Centre for Computing History in Cambridge this weekend and thought I'd ask before looking into what would be...

Re: Today's fun: Fitting a TMS2RGB

Found the problem after dismantling the MTX... The moral of the story is... beware how you route your cables! IMG_2819.jpg I'd let the ribbon cable rest over the top of the legs of components coming through the board. Unfortunately, just at this point there's a pad on the lower case which, when the ...

Re: Today's fun: Fitting a TMS2RGB

Looks like something on the blue channel has gone VERY bad. The blue signal should not look like this... IMG_2818.jpg 25V peak-to peak?!!!!!!!! I think it's killed my RGB2HDMI's blue input and may have done damage to the OSSC. (The other channels are fine, with good signals at ~ 2V peak-to-peak and ...

Re: Today's fun: Fitting a TMS2RGB

OK, well it worked for a little while... Then the display went screwy.

Now it seems to short out the RGB2HDMI and the Memotech doesn't start with that connected. Similarly the OSSC. I think something's gone pop on the TMS-RGB board as with the cable disconnected the machine starts normally.

Re: Today's fun: Fitting a TMS2RGB

IMG_2814.jpg Can you guess what my cunning plan is yet?... Oh yes, I'm using the opening which was used for the modulator for the new RGB socket! :-) IMG_2815.jpg IMG_2816.jpg After putting it all back together the modification to the Memotech is complete. Now I have to make the other end of the ca...

Today's fun: Fitting a TMS2RGB

Today's fun is installing a TMS2RGB board to my original Memotech MTX500, which I had to fix three years ago after being dead since 1988. So, the first task was to clean up the bodge wires on the bottom of the board, which was a mod to allow the use of normal EEPROMs rather than the original mask RO...

Re: My second MTX

As I've mentioned elsewhere, the best way of getting the key switches working properly non-invasively is to use Electrolube EML. Take the keycap off, hold the stem down and squirt some EML down the hole. Operate the switch 20-30 times and it should be as good as new. If after a couple of days it sta...

Re: Hello from Huddersfield, and a couple of queries…

The "new CFX" turned into the MFX, which is "infinitely" better. :-)
