There are also quite some good legacy Video processors worth looking at if you're building a homebrew computer system V6366 these are normally in PLCC68 (internally just an enhanced 6845) R6545 DIP40 slightly improved 6845 V99x8 VDP.. Video Processor for homebrew project ?

1 Mbit Versatile SPI / 8-Bit Parallel Bus SRAM with Video Display Controller I spotted an interesting chip that may be useful for those building those little projects both MTX and Non-MTX related.
