Re: Suddenly dont work on one mainboard but work at another

I think what Martin is getting at, is are the two MTX computers the same RAM configuration? Is the PAL/replacement GAL correct? With regards to the video daughter board, I don't recall any critical circuits going to it. The only thing I can think of, is it does use the +12V supply. If this is shorti...

Re: ebay resue/basket case....

@ Matt - is it your intention to have a power supply arrangement that replaces the on-board voltage regulator circuitry, or are you intending to supply voltages suitable for the on-board voltage regulator circuitry input terminals? You may want to have a read of this thread: Building a replacement M...

Re: ebay resue/basket case....

The MTX needs a +12V, +5V, -5V and if you get a RS232 serial board, -12V supplies. Most of the logic is powered from the +5V rail. I suggest you use a supply rated at 1.5A. The 16k video DRAM chips need a +12V supply (main supply rail for them) and a -5V bias supply. If the -5V is lost, or not prese...

Welcome on board Matt! :D :D :D Erm, the idea of this section is for new members to start a new thread rather than hijacking an existing thread...  But never mind :P I was (half) watching that MTX that you bought for £52 and was slightly surprised that it did not go higher. I say half w...

The hard work is paying off :-)

Partial restoration of World of Spectrum has been achieved. The forums and some other sections are not yet functional.
