What other retro machines do you have?

Post by 1024MAK »

Okay, as many here will know, I have many fingers in many pies, so have a number of other retro computers.

I shall start the ball rolling ;-)

As well as various Memotech MTX computers, I also have:

Sinclair ZX81 computers plus a lot of the Memotech peripherals / add-ons including 16k RAM, 64k RAM and the Memotech keyboard :-)
Sinclair ZX Spectrums including rubber 48k, Plus, +2, +2B, +3
Sinclair QL
Cambridge Z88
Amstrad CPC6128
Acorn Electron
Acorn BBC B, BBC Master 128, BBC Master Turbo, BBC Master Compact
Acorn A3010, A3020, A4000 (not working), A5000, A7000, RiscPC 600, RiscPC 700
Atari 520ST, 520STFM, 1040STFM, 520STE, 1040STE, Mega ST, TT, Falcon
Psion Series 3/3a/3c, Series 5mx, Revo.
Commodore Amiga's (very rarely used).

I use the MTX, Spectrums and Beeb's the most nowadays, but a few years ago, I used the Atari ST's at least once a week.

My other hobby is tinkering with electrionics.

So what other retro computers do you have? :?:

Mark
:!: Standby alert :!:
“There are four lights!”
Step up to red alert. Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb :!:
Looking forward to summer in Somerset later in the year :D

Not as many MTXs as Dave!

Ok, here goes the list is not quite as comprehensive.

Z80 based:
16k ZX80 (2 both home made, one with a full size keyboard, one with mini switches)
48k ZX81
48K Spectrum plus
Tatung Einstein (3" and 3.5" floppies)
MTX500 (2 of only one PSU though)

6502 based:
42k Vic 20
Commodore 64C
Atari 800XL
BBC Master 128 (with Z80 Co Pro)

Arm Based:
A3020 (with a 386 co-pro)
A7000 (with Z80 and 6502 co-pro's)
RiscPC SA110 (with a 586 co-pro)
Raspberry Pi(256mb Model B)

other:
TI994A
Fignition

I've been known to tinker with electronics too. As quite a few of the above have been "adapted".

I'm a bit lazy with the software though, one day I'll finish writing the software for the A7000's co-processors, they really need to do more than print sign-on messages..

(edited 16/12/13 to add in some I forgot)

Since I'm in my study right now:

MTX512 with Rememorizer
BBC Model B x 2 (one with dual floppies and sideways ROM, one with sideways RAM and SD card reader)
Acorn Electron with Interface 1 and PRES floppy interface
Oric Atmos
Dragon 32
Sinclair QL with "Trump Card" (floppy interface and memory expansion with toolkit ROM)
Amstrad 6128 x 2 (one is broken)
Atari Mega ST 4 with UltraSatan SD HDD and NetUSBee interface
Atari 520STFM (upgraded to 1024k) with UltraSatan SD HDD
Acorn Atom x 2 (both working, one with RAM/ROM, SD drive and colour cards)
ZX Spectrum 128+ "toast rack" model with DivIDE+ and a Kempston joystick interface
ZX Spectum 48+ (needs a membrane)
ZX Spectrum 48k x 2 (rubber key; one needs a new membrane)
ZX-81 with 16k rampack
Amiga 500
Amiga 500+ (broken, utterly)
Amiga 1200 with accelerator card and internal CF based drive
Amstrad PPC 640D (now that's a quirky PC!)
Raspberry PI
Fignition (Atmel based FORTH computer)
Home built UK101 clone
Various peripherals - Dual 5.25" drive, dual 3.5" dive (both Shughart so will work with any retro FDD interface), Panasonic KXP-1081 dot matrix printer, loads of cables, manuals, books, etc.

..and to think I'm trying to acquire MORE retro junk!

(Actually, a Tatung Einstein and a Commodore PET 3032 and I reckon I'll be done... cough, cough...)

Main problem for me is time (same as everyone else, I imagine). I'm collecting in the hope of having time to play in the future.

Hi Dave

It all lives in my study ("man cave"), and I'm out of space...

That said, I DO have space for a shiny new copy of The Source (and the original, of course...) ;)

Hi Jon,

I think we'd better leave it for a while

- I wouldn't like to clutter up your "man cave" even further, what with Christmas coming up, how would Santa get in ? :-)

Hmm looking at the lists posted, admittedly its a small sample. But should this be re-named as an MTX and BBC forum ?

Hi Martin,

I know that the Raspberry Pi has been out for a little while now, but maybe it's a bit soon to include it in a "Retro" machine list?

Edit: I see Jon has included his too :-)

Fignition probably is even newer, but very retro.

Think Jupiter Ace with 80% of the keyboard missing.

Good soldering practice though
