If anyone can think of any other ICs they'd like sourcing for old Machines like the SMS (Sega Master System) , Sega Genesis/MegaDrive etc just let me know.

I'm not quite sure how compatible the SMS Video Chips are with the original TMS9918, but they do seem to look like a good VDP for a homebrew project.. They are DIP64 as opposed to the TMS9918 DIP 40. The SMS VDP also has several advantages.. can access 32K , though only 16k is used, has a YS signal for superimpose as well as extra modes.

Still looking for a good source to buy these... I'll keep you posted.
