Should you be available to attend Memofest 2016 in Aberdeen,
please select the dates that are open to you.

The intention would be to hold the event on the Saturday, but
have flexibility to roll over into a second day if required.

Please select all dates that you could potentially make and I will
see which dates suit the majority

regards
Dave

mmm, if you're only on day 3 by the 20th January, then by the time you get to August, the rest of us will be planning for Memofest 2017

1. 27/28 August .........Okay
2. 3/4 September .......Okay (Note E)
3. 10/11 September ...currently working the weekend
4. 17/18 September ...currently working the weekend
5. 24/25 September ...Okay
6. 1/2 October ...........Okay
7. 8/9 October ...........Okay (Note E)
8. 15/26 October........currently working the weekend
9. 22/23 October........currently working the weekend
10. 29/30 October......Okay

If one of the dates when I am rostered to work proves popular, as long as it is decided three months (or more) in advance, that should not be a problem.

I can do rail (if I can survive the whole day of travel on the railways) as I live 15 mins walking time away from my local station. But as the journey takes the best part of a day, overnight stays would be needed. I briefly looked at air travel last year. I will have to go and check again.

Just checked. For me, the current cost of a aircraft ticket for outward travel on Friday 26th August with a return flight on the the Sunday is just under £100. Again need two overnight stays. Of course the flight time is a fraction of time the train takes (1 hr 22 mins + driving time + waiting time vs. 8 to 10 hours).

Some info re. accommodation . . .

Obviously, you are likely to get cheaper room rates the further in advance you can book, so there is a bit of an incentive to get the date finalised early. I suppose it's a trade off between getting the best rates and being certain of the date.

The location would be AB15 and there are two hotels within walking distance of my house (which is about 14km from the airport and 6km from the train station). Depending on your budget, you have

The 3* Cults Hotel, ~750m
http://www.thecultshotel.co.uk/
Room Rates, Double Room, £75 with breakfast, £60 without per night
I have never stayed there, but the restaurant is nice and the rooms look good on the web
It is pretty small though, so early booking would be advisable, this is probably the preferred choice

The 4* Norwood Hall Hotel, ~1km
Room rates, about £80 per night booked direct, you may get cheaper on the web
http://www.macdonaldhotels.co.uk/our-ho ... all-hotel/
or Booking.com
Again, I have not stayed there, but it is bigger than the Cults hotel, so you probably have more scope to book a bit later

The 5* Marcliffe at Pitfodels, 1.4km :-)
http://www.marcliffe.com/accommodation.htm
Say £300 per night, pretty popular for weekend breaks so you're not likely to get in anyway :-)
I have stayed there, but I can't imagine the rate being popular for Memofest :-)

Aberdeen City Centre has the usual range of budget hotels
Including Travelodge City Centre, about 6km from me
Rate depends on when you book, far enough in advance and it would be £65
It's a Travelodge - you know what you're getting

any questions or requests for more info, just ask
