What to DO at Memofest 2017

We've already had the suggestion of a high score competition.

And of course there's the cake.

Has anyone got any other suggestions, for things they'd like to see, or do, or bring along to show off ??

I should have a new game finished to show off, a conversion of a 1979 arcade game.

Just High score (which is a bitch to do), title screen and sound to do.

Is there going to be a surgery for poorly MTX's?

Well, there is an operating theatre available if anyone has an MTX in need of surgery.

Thats Cool. You mean you have to code the highscore and maybe top 10 hall of fame ? I did that in the ColecoVision versions of Comic Bakery and Telebunny. I am sure my code was not perfect but it did the job. I am quite sure the scores and highscores was stored one byte = one digit.

By the way, no new game to show this year :( as you might know my Memotech stuff is all stored away. Maybe next year.

I'm thinking about making a very simple "health" indicator.

If it makes it from the dark depths of my mind into the real world before Memofest, I'll bring it along.

As Memofest is in Hastings (reasonably nearby) I think attendance might be on the cards (pending permission from the Boss!)..

I'd like to bring something, but what? As I haven't really done anything with it of note with my MTX, maybe I could bring something else of interest? Some suggestions:
  • A TRS-80 Model II with CP/M and IDE CF card running my drivers.
  • An Amstrad PCW with my uIDE device, running my PCW driver.
  • A Phillips P2000C CP/M portable, running a SCSI2SD card (this one has a broken floppy drive but boots off the SCSI2SD card). Mark will be familiar with it, I think...
  • One or more of the other interesting machines - PET, ORIC ATMOS, Acorn Atom, Tatung Einstien, Sinclair QL, Amstrad PCW 16 (this one is supposedly very rare, ha ha...)
I have a MAGROM and Rememoriser and I seem to recall there are firmware updates available for one or both of them, is that right?

[Edit: I have permission! So I'm going.. what is the address?]

E-mail me on memofest2017@btinternet.com and I'll send you the details.

Magrom, there's now a version 2 rom, with some of the MTX512 only games on it.

ReMemorizor, that's one of Andy's designs, you may as well bring it, he's intending to come and maybe able to use the workbench here to do the upgrade.

As for "stuff" I know some of the others have things to show, but if you think we'll be interested the by all means bring something.(NB there's an Einstein here already, so maybe not that)

More like no software at all :(
Boot disc and BBC basic were all that came with it.
