Hi Guys,

as I mentioned, shortly, I will be receiving the components from Lez for distribution.

Most of the components will come to me in the manufacturers shipping tubes and will need to be split up for distribution. It would be better if I could ship the chips in anti-static foam, unfortunately, I don't have very much of it.

Do any of you have any going spare, perhaps you have some old shipping boxes with foam inside that is looking for a new home?

Alas none here to speak of, I'm afraid. Most of the parts I have came in tubes or bags.

I do have a reasonable size piece of black anti-static foam, but it is currently full of chips

However, you can still buy anti-static foam, and even if I find some boxes with anti-static foam, by the time I have posted them to you, it would not be much cheaper than if you bought some new

So, on to the links...

Farnell

CPC

Maplin

eBay

When ever I buy chips in more than small numbers, they often come in tubes. Often the tubes have been cut down. It is not often that I receive chips packed in anti-static foam these days, and when I do, often the foam is just big enough for the one of two chips...

Of course, we don't want you to end up out of pocket

Hi Mark,

thanks for the reply - and the links. I had found the ebay ads, but was just trying to scrimp :-)

As you say, most chips are shipped in tubes, they can be cut down, but the sum of the parts ends up being less than the whole :-)

Hi Guys,

Les has not got all of the parts and he will be sending them out to me on Monday.

He has just advised me that he has some spare CPUs
MC68008P10s, MC68008FN10 68000 CPUs.. DIP48, and PLCC52 respectfully
Also W65C02 DIP40 and PLCC44 6502s

And asked whether anyone in the group has a use for them?

Anything in DIP packages I would be interested in playing with.

I've not seen a 68k since the QL days.

Hi Dave :-) Thanks for the update :-)
I have a QL PCB that may be in need of a 48 pin DIL 68008 CPU (MC68008P10).
Also W65C02 DIP40 CPUs may come in useful for Acorn 6502 based computers (BBC B and Electron).

So if there are any spare...

I currently don't have a use for the PLCC versions.

Can you please pass on our thanks to Lez for his kind offer.

Mark
