I bought another mtx512 online, untested. I got it for a fair price, but it was not what I hoped for. It seems like it have been stored some where, rain or some liquid have clearly been at that computer. But all the key Caps and the main board is complete.

Hi Claus,

the keyboard is ugly

I got one in for repair that looked a lot like that : http://primrosebank.net/computers/mtx/r ... darren.htm

As you'll know, to get the metal plate cleaned up properly would really require that all the keys were unsoldered from the PCB, which is not really practical. I was able to clean most of the rust off from the front side (leaving a few scratches along the way). Access is easier if you take the assembly out of the upper part of the shell.

Most of the keyswitches were OK, but I did need to change a few of them. Hopefully, your keys will be OK

regards
Dave
