Should we have an "introduce yourself" section?

Post by 1024MAK »

Should we have an "introduce yourself" section where new members can tell us a little bit about themselves (and their own set-up) and existing members can say "hello and welcome" to them?

Yes / no, please do feel free to let rip with your comments...

Yes, that seems like a good idea.

And while we are canvassing opinion on the content of the board . . .

Hopefully, things are starting to move now, after being pretty stagnant for a while, so what about sub-folders under the major headings?

Could be nice, do you guys want a sub-category under GENERAL DISCUSSIONS or a new main category?

Hmm, I was thinking, adding it as a new main category, so it is very easy for new members to find :P
If possible, adding it as the top most category on the board index page.

Can a favicon be added to the forum as well ?

Post by 1024MAK »

Also we don't have a favicon :(.

 Can a favicon be added to the forum as well ? :?:

A favicon is a small picture (icon) that appears in a users links bar or links tab.
See Sinclair ZX World forum for an example ;)

More info:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7865 ... or-my-site
http://www.dreamweaverclub.com/forum/sh ... hp?t=30739
http://brianshim.com/webtricks/add-favi ... ur-websit/

The Sinclair ZX World. forum uses this code:

Code: Select all

<LINK REL="SHORTCUT ICON" HREF="http://www.sinclairzxworld.com/favicon.ico" />
Or as shown in one of the links I give above:

Code: Select all

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="images/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" /> in the head of your document, where the path is to your image (named favicon.ico )
 Of course we do need to decide what 16 x 16 image to use... Suggestions please :geek:

Not bad too.

We could have a vote on it - unless there are any more contenders ?
