Who's bringing what?

Post by Dave »

More specifically, is anyone bringing any broken stuff to Memofest that are candidates for the "Memotech Hospital"?

I have a pretty decent toolkit that should cover most eventualities and it shouldn't be necessary for anyone to bring any tools with them unless there are any special jobs that need doing where I don't have the needed tools.

Please let me know if you are hoping to get any broken kit looked at and we can hopefully make sure that the required tools are available

I'll bring a Raspberry Pi, with RiscOS installed and a copy of the source files I use to build the MTXplus+ roms.

My MTX is having display problems again. I can't bring it with me but I can bring the video daughterboard. this has been fixed once already and worked at last years Memofest.

Even if it can be tested in another MTX to discount it would be worthwhile.
THIS is what Memotech is doing now.

Hi Paul,

I am sure that we could do that - bring it on!

The MTX is a bit of a beast to bring on the plane, so I understand why you can't bring it - you might consider just bringing the computer board though, unless you are sure that it is just a video board problem. It is also conceivable that it is a PSU issue - again, you might want to think about bringing that for elimination purposes

Step up to red alert. Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb :!:
Looking forward to summer in Somerset later in the year :D

Not as many MTXs as Dave!

Hi Andy,

thanks, I am ok for tools I think, the 'scope, logic analyser (albeit that the CMOS battery is flat and you need to enter the date when you power it on) and multi-meter will be available as required.

I also have most of the main board TTL chips, CPU, CTC, RAM, VRAM and EPROMs, I don't think that I have a spare VDP though, so if you have a spare one, it might be worth bringing.

I managed to squeeze the Pi & PSU in the travel bag, no room for the MTX plus I'm afraid.
