As I said, I have been out most of the day and only had a very quick look at it before I went to bed, but it looks like it matches up perfectly !

Dave wrote:Hi Guys,

I have had a go at printing the top half of the case, my printer is not the fastest in the world and the top half was projected to take 20 hours to print!

I left it running overnight and it wasn't finished when I had to leave the house this morning. I was out most of the day and just got back - half expecting the print to have failed, but, lo and behold - it had finished and looked REALLY good! - Well done Tero!

A couple of quick photos attached - apologies for the poor quality, but it was late.

Next step is to print the base - the software is predicting that that will "only" take 14 hours - so, more news "soon".

Step up to red alert. Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb :!:

I made a slightly updated back plate with the rail connecting to the base recessed from the ends, leaving room for the screws. There's also an opening for the CF card. I also made another one without the opening. Not sure how this will work with printers, though.

Base printed now too.
The model is fine, the PLA that I am using or maybe my printer, means that the base has a little "warp" in it. It think that it will work fine though. Maybe a professional printer or other material would give a flatter product, but even this one is pretty good

Looks very nice! Hopefully the back plate will slide in place.

I tried uploading the models to MakeXYZ, the quote for the top, bottom and back plate were 75 €, including shipping.

As I mentioned, the base printed with a little warping, it doesn't cause too much of a problem and may be better if printed again

And, just for fun . . . .

With a little "photo-shopping" . . . .
