Could this be THE Dave Stevenson?

Post by stephen_usher »

I just bought a 486DX2-66 "Overdrive" processor off eBay and when it arrived the From: address seemed very familiar...

Dave Stevenson and the address included a road name containing "Primrosebank". :D

Could this be one of those "it's a small World" events?

Good job you didn't come here to complain about some deluded, ebay-scalper from Scotland. That could have been embarrassing!

I never thought of advertising it here . . .

I couldn't get it to fit into my MTX's expansion socket :D

Hmm.. a 486 co-processor add-on for the Memotech. That would be fun.

I'll have a word with my engineer, the only Co-pro so far is the 6502 :D

“There are four lights!”
Step up to red alert. Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb :!:
Looking forward to summer in Somerset later in the year :D

Not as many MTXs as Dave!

Actually I did get an offer one time of some 80188/80186 CPUs. However I'm not sure there's a great deal to be gained by fitting an X86 to the MTX.

The prototype 6502 board at least runs BBC basic at 14mhz+. Microsoft Basic on early 12mhz intel doesn't have quite the same appeal!
