MTX printer cable needed -URGENT

hi Dears,

i just got a printer for my MTX , but without a cable it can do nothing.
i tried to find the components to make one , but no success so far.

so please i need help...
if anyone have a cable or can make me one , or have the 34pin at least i'll be very thankful.( i will pay him of course +)

All the relevant parts are still available from larger electronic suppliers or from trading sites.

The printer end is a “Micro Ribbon 36 pin IDC flat ribbon male” type.
The computer end is a “IDC Connector, With Strain Relief, IDC Receptacle, Female, 2.54 mm, 2 Row, 34 Contacts, Cable Mount” type or similar. Also sometimes known as box header type.
And of course you need the correct pitch of flat ribbon cable.

Tools to crimp the connectors on to the cable are also available.

There is a diagram of the cable in the back of the MTX operators manual.

The chances of finding a new ready made cable are very slim. And unfortunately, there were not likely to have been a great number that were made and sold in the first place. So used cables are also going to be hard to find.

Isn't it the same as the BBC Micro parallel printer cable? I'm pretty sure that it is.

The BBC cable looks like it only has 26 cores

No, the BBC uses an IDC connector at the computer end with less pins. So unless you cut pins off the Memotech’s male connector, it won’t fit.

I'm no engineer in this matter , but i'll try to assemble one .
I ordered an IDC 34 pin male with long cable from Ebay and i have the other end with me from an old cable. i will try to assemble it , but if it will not work , i will need someone's help here .

Not wishing to rain on anyone's nostalgia parade, what do you plan to do with the printer - other than bask in the glory of the buzz of the dot matrix heads and marvel at how we used to do it?

Just to complete the setup on my disk , and listen to the sound of dot matrix … childhood remains
