Drowning under a sea of SPAM!

Claus,

the board is at risk of losing any value if the ever increasing amount of SPAM is allowed to continue.

I know that we don't get a lot of messages at the best of times, but the amount of SPAM seems to be disproportionately high - and getting worse.

Is there anythingt that can be done to restrict the scope for new users to post this s**t in the forums?
-Perhaps requiring the user to be validated before they can post?

regards
Dave

Although it requires more work for an administrator or moderator, one way to reduce spam, is for new members to be required to enter a reason why they want to join and to give a short history of their own retro computing hobby.

If what they say sounds like it has been written by a human with an interest in retro computing, their registration can be validated.
