Hello from Sweden

Hi All,
A new user with a Memotech MTX, or well it hasn't even arrived yet but hopefully in a day or so, in the same delivery is also an Enterprise.
I already have a few other retro computers, Acorn Atom, BBC, Electron a QL, Z88 and Amstrad NC100,200 and my main interest is restore them (if needed), learn the technology and most of all build accessories.
There will most likely be questions from me soon, first step is to connect it to a monitor using the RGBtoHDMI.
After that go through all projects here especially the most recent ones and see where to get PCBs or Gerbers.
Rgds
Chris

Hi,
Welcome to the forum!
I don’t know anything about the RGBtoHDMI adapter, but be aware that the MTX does not have an RGB output, though it does have Composite Video.
(The FDX disk system does have a colour video output, signal, but not pin, compatible with CGA)

Hello Chris
Welcome to our forum
The MTX500 and MTX512 models to the U.K. specification only have composite video and RF/UHF outputs. Internally they use the TMS9929A video chip which only outputs YPbPr video signals (monochrome video and two colour difference signals). The YPbPr signals are then processed to produce a PAL colour composite video signal.

Hello,
Thank you to both of you!
Well, I’m not sure what I have to do in detail but hopefully these signals can be converted using analog board+rgbtohdmi by hoglet. If not enough I will have a look at lumacode or TMS9918 emulator using pico.
Mark, you’re very active at the Stardot forum, great to see you here as well.

Keep in mind that due to the location of the TMS9929A chip on the board, there is very little space above it due to the keyboard and the slope of the case.
IIRC Dave has already had a play with a/one of the TMS9918 emulators.
This is not an area that I myself have experimented with much, as I have various LCD TVs and monitors that are happy with 1980s home computer composite video signals.
Have a read of his
website as it is full of useful information on the MTX

One option is to get an
MFX.
That has a VGA output. Then VGA to HDMI converters are cheap and readily available.

As Mark (1024MAK) said, the space is tight and certainly an F18A works but you can't shut the case. The new Pico9918 might though.
Edit: Welcome! You bought the Memotech from Tradera? I saw that one - great looking item.
Esit 2: Also there is the TMS-RGB which you solder to the bottom of the TMS9929 to get RGB out.

Something like:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Converter-Amta ... B0828Q4CNQ
Will work with the MTX's composite video and take the audio as well.
Not the world's greatest picture on the one I tried, but then with the hum bars and everything, the VDP's composite isn't that good to start with!

Hi
Thanks, I had a look on the TMS-RGB seems to be a great companion to RGBtoHDMI, I will open the case and inspect everything before I decide.
Yes I got it from tradera, arrived yesterday together with an Enterprise 64

. For some reason there been two MTX for sale within a week, mine is the one with box but no games.
BTW, the seller has tons of retro computers, I emailed and asked for a list and had to google some of them. Now he's selling a Camputers Lynx in excellent condition.
@Martin, thanks I will have a look.
Thanks for all support so far!

Should work well with an OSSC or Retrotink also.
