Hi guys,
As a user of Memotech computers I have needed to source some very old components, quite often requiring purchasing in larger quantities than I need in order to make them economic.
This means that I have a limited number of components that I don't envisage using that I am making available to others who may be interested.
These parts are typically, "new, old stock" (NOS), that means that they are unused components that were probably manufactured around the same time as the MTX computer, i.e., they can be expected to be around 30 years old.
If you are initerested, takle a look here :-

Re: For Sale: Replacement components for MTX machines(RAMs e
Hi Jon,
based on the experience of the group and the machines advertised on ebay, the most common fault would appear to be the Video RAMs.
the next most likely candidate seems to be the main RAM, but failures seem to be much less common than the VRAMs.
After that, maybe PSU failures,

I think my VRAM is working so it's a fix on fail scenario for me!

Hi Jon,
The symptoms of one or more non-working VRAMs is pretty obvious, some examples here . . .

But apart from the screen corruption symptom, the second part of this page describes a very odd problem that also turned out to be faulty VRAM
