You don't have to build them :)
True, one prototype and 2 PCBs is more than enough for me to have built.

0 - 6 more like :)

60 would be amazing, but I don't think there's THAT many active MTX owners out there !

Re: Interrupts in com files

The MTX boot sequence passes control to the CPM rom very early. The relevant part are extracted below. 0194 setup base memory map to page 0 of ROM mode. 019C test how many RAM pages are present 01B1 clear the fixed ram 01C2 check/set the international keyboard settings 01CB minimal system variables ...

Re: Memofest 2022 possible ? Where ? When ?

OK, having had a conversation with Jim, we've settled on the weekend of 5th/6th November to try and sort out his MTXs. So this is now an open invitation for anyone else that wants to come and make it a Memofest. The memofest2017(at)btinternet(dot)com e-mail address from previous Memofests is still a...

Re: MFX mass-storage add-on

With respect to the 512K memory. If the MTX only has 32K on-board how is the memory mapped? The MTX memory map in "ROM mode" has room for 16 pages of 32k and then 16k fixed memory. The MTX memory test has a bug if all 16 pages are full, and reports no paged ram found ram as a result. So M...

Re: MFX mass-storage add-on

So, Dave has confirmed that as expected, there are no clearance issues with MFX and the case will close without problems. See near the end: http://primrosebank.net/computers/mtx/projects/mfx/mfx-eng.htm That's meant I could complete the 3d printed end plate: end plate.jpg The print is the same thick...

Re: MFX mass-storage add-on

To add to Dave's photo of a part completed board, this is what it looks like in all its completed glory! full board.jpg The FPGA board is on risers to allow easy access to the programming header, so I'm running externally powered. In it's proper position there is a power supply from the board and th...

Is there some local reason for this?

Mark
Some blokes called Harold and William had a big bust up nearby in the middle of October 1066. So the bonfires are in commemoration of that.

Re: Memofest 2022 possible ? Where ? When ?

OK, so I've been sorting out with Jim a date sometime after the school holidays to have a look at repairing an MTX or 3 and a couple of disc units. SO if anyone else wants to come along and join in on the repairs, and maybe turn it into a full Memofest, the dates we're currently looking at are the w...

Re: New Game: Diamond Dash

Works a treat on real MTX. Sneaky use of the half width space in the scoreboard to get 15 double wide characters and 2 spaces in to 32 characters :) The underlying disc system is CPM 2.2, So good old 8.3 file names are the order of the day for anything .RUN or .COM. Tape names were more flexible tho...
