Hi
Got a few Drives, but cant get them to work in PC.
I have two Teac FD-55B-20-U
and a Qumetrak 142
The PC i use run DR.Dos - and the system supports 5.25" at 360kb and 1.2mb. in the bios. Dos itself also support the diskformats.
As I know the Teac drives are 80tracks, so it might need som mod to run 40 tracks?
By the way any chance the Teac drives will work with the fdx ?
5.25" drive in PC and can it read memotech disks?

Hi Claus,
the "Teac FD-55B-20-U" is a 40 track (per side), double density drive - not 80 tracks
There are quite a few straps that need to be set, you can find the manual for these drives on this (unfinished) page
http://primrosebank.net/computers/mtx/t ... altfdd.htm
They should work with the FDX - in fact, I think that I have a couple, but they are in the loft at the moment
regards
Dave
