Where? South Cheshire. When? 17/18 October

Post by Dave »

Hi guys,

There hasn't been any updates to the Memofest 2015 thread since October last year, so, let's see if we can kick start it!

Paul is hosting the 2015 event at his home in South Cheshire, but there are few other details available at the moment. To help Paul plan, I suggest that we start to put together a list of attendees and possible activities for the event.

Who is planning to attend?
Which day(s)?
Will you be able to bring any Memotech or related hardware?
What things would you like to see/discuss during the event?

Possible activities :-
A Memotech "hospital"
Game (Toado?) high score competition?
New hardware
New software?

Come on, chime in!

Regards
Dave

> Which day(s)? I work shifts, so some months it's a bit complex. But October is looking okay. Weekends currently free in October are: Sat 10, Sun 11, Sat 17, Sun 18, Sat 24. So any of those is fine with me ;)

> A Memotech "hospital" So assuming there will be casualties to attend to, I guess that means bringing some surgical tools and spare organs... It helps if some details are known about the patients in advance...
> Game (Toado?) high score competition? I'm rubbish at most games, but I will try my best
> New hardware Yes please :geek: The plan is to have two competed "new" MTX PSU's ready for their new owners.
> New software? Yes please :P

Did the RS232 serial experiment get anywhere since last year?

Mark
:!: Standby alert :!:
“There are four lights!”
Step up to red alert. Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb :!:
Looking forward to summer in Somerset later in the year :D

Not as many MTXs as Dave!

I would like to attend on the Saturday, but not yet sure whether I will be free to do so.

May we have some details on accessibility by public transport? I prefer not to drive that distance.

If I get there I could demo the work I have been doing getting MEMU to run an Oxford Ring (NODE). Would bring a laptop & RPi rather than real MTX hardware.

Unfortunately, I missed last year :( . What was the "RS232 serial experiment"?

Definitely interested to see the work Martin & Dave have been doing on CFX & MTX+.

Thanks Dave for starting this.

I think the best day for this will be the Saturday.

It would be great to see everyone again, having missed last years.

Seeing all the new developments, like the MTX+, CFX and Node would be great.

I will have loads of table space, plug sockets and a couple of extension cables. Plus will have various food stuffs to stop people flagging. :)

I've got a working MTX512 (thanks to a number of people over the years, You know who you are) and a monitor, laptop and tower.

Dave and I have already tested out Facetime so will be able to join us again.

I am pretty easy to get to by train as I live near a main station, and I am only a couple of minutes away in the car. (20 minutes if you feel like walking).

All I have to do now is come up with something to beat that damn cake!!!!!! [sarcasm]Thanks Andy[/sarcasm]

Early October I am in Italy, so one of 17th, 18th, 24th works for me.

Would be good to see MTXPlus+, CFX and Node stuff, and whatever else has been bubbling along in the background.

I can bring my REMEMOTECH if anyone hasn't seen it before.
I can bring my SDX if anyone needs to be able to transfer data between 3.5" and 5.25" floppies.
I can bring any available REMEMOrizers in case anyone is interested.
I can bring my boxes of electronics stuff, to help with repairs, or perhaps if anyone wants their REMEMOrizer r2 upgraded to r3.
I can bring a laptop with BE, BEMEMU and MEMU on it, and show how to delve within running programs.
Let me know if I should bring any of these.

I'm afraid I haven't had much of a chance to build anything new for MTX this year.

As for games, well, I play a mean game of Obliteration Zone - think you can beat me?

Given it'll be Cheshire, lets hope its not a cheesecake this year...

I can do the 17th Paul. Like many others on here I have been starved of time in last year or so so there is little new at my end. I do have all 30 levels of Pothole Pete on my iphone 5 currently though am some way of getting the rest of it working. Once we get there I'd like to redo another 30 levels with new graphics / sound etc.. Just wish I could redo the original with new graphics etc. No time or code left to do it (or spare brain cells these days either)

I can bring some hardware up if needed though if its the usual people coming then they would have already seen what I have.
