eBay: It's going nuts again.

Post by stephen_usher »

I see the prices on eBay are going nuts again.

Who would ever pay £250 for this wreck? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/145564031228

And £850 for an admittedly OK looking machine? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/296212960863

And I see the Pascal ROMPAK is still on sale for ~£500.

*sigh*

yeah, saw those Stephen. That nasty-looking 512, looks like it's been fished out of a septic tank and dried off. :?

There's zero chance of the "Spectic tank" find working - missing the end plates indicates that someone opened it up, likely to try and fix it, gave up and stuck in a cupboard (or Septic Tank!) to be forgotten about for the last 30-40 years.

The other one is from a dealer famed for his "optimistic" pricing, he'll wait until someone, desperate for a MTX, stumps up the crazy price

I've seen people restore 1980s computers in a worse condition, but no, you would have to be mad to pay that price for a machine in that condition.

Step up to red alert. Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb :!:
Looking forward to summer in Somerset later in the year :D

Not as many MTXs as Dave!
