Martin has designed a great new add-on for the MTX, as he appears to be "hiding his light under a bushel" at the moment, I thought that I should break the news!
Martin has designed a ROM board that plugs into the MTX cartridge connector - just like the original Memotech games ROMs did, but with a difference. Martin's design features the ability to store many MTX games programs on the ROM card and uses an on screen menu to allow the user to select the game to run.
Martin has kindly written a few notes on the design and provided a copy of the drawings and source code that he has kindly allowed me to post on the website.
At the moment, there are 22 games that run from the ROM, and probably more to come, all for the cost of materials of around £10.00, and building of the board. As Martin points out - you'd not have gotten two games for that price "back in the day" !
Check it out at :-

If you are as impressed as I am - why not drop Martin a note letting him know.
Here's a sneak preview of the Menu running on a real MTX

“There are four lights!”
Step up to red alert. Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb

Autumn is here. Bye bye summer 2024...
Not as many MTXs as Dave!

Really impressed. As I don't mix with Hardware very well I am green with envy that you can put something like this together.
THIS is what Memotech is doing now.

BTW Either the copy of Tachyon fighter is corrupt, or it needs to come off that list, I have a proper look at it at the weekend.

Hi Martin,
thanks for the update - hopefully, it's just a bad copy and the game will run.
Still, not the end of the world if that one has to drop off the list, it's still a great idea
