I do still have the MTX. It's in the loft, no doubt full of dust and cobwebs. The power supply would probably have had it too. But one day I'll get it down.

The MTX PSU is just a transformer and switch, so assuming it was good before being stored, and that the storage conditions were okay, I don’t see there being a problem with it.

The MTX computer, obviously will take a bit more effort, as there is more space for spiders and dust to collect.

The sooner you get it down and give it a clean, the sooner you can be up and running. There are new games to play and new hardware to use to help you play them

Hi Everyone. Great to have joined the group. I recently got a MTX500 having wanted one back in the 1980s. My 8 bit history is
1981: ZX81
1982: Ti99/4a
1983: Oric Atmos
1984: Acorn Electron
Fast forward 38 years and I've started collecting again. I have the above plus a few others had I always wanted like the MTX500, Camputers Lynx, BBC B and Grundy Newbrain. As a product designer I really love the styling of 80s computers and enjoy restoring them cosmetically, but I am pretty hopeless with the electronics side of thing and need plenty of help with this side of things. I will post my first MTX problem shortly. Cheers, Matt

Hi All,

I'm new to the MTX, I got into retro 15 years ago when I retrieved my old systems from storage and they all still worked !
Thanks to eBay and overtime I have now collected most of the 8/16 bit systems.

I've have my MTX512 for about 7 years now but haven't done anything with it as there was no easy way of accessing the software and I missed out on the REMEMOrizer run.

Now the proud owner of an MFX (thanks Dave!) I'm looking forward to exploring this wonderful machine

1984 - BBC B, issue 3 board (second hand, thanks uncle John, RIP)
1986 - C64C, 6581 sid
1987 - Spectrum 48K - £40 like new, well why not : )
1988 - Amiga 500, KS1.2 - My dream machine
1992 - Amiga 4000 - Bit disappointed the extra power was seldom used
1994 - P90, The end !
